Interview with Michael Bearpark , Starscream Enterprises entering two GT-Rs

The Global Racing Organisation

caught up with Starscream

Enterprise's team driver and owner

Michael Bearpark, as he discuss the

teams move to fielding factory-

backed Nissan GT-R GTM's next

year in the season.

GRO: How do you feel switching to

Nissan after fielding an Aston Martin

last season?

Michael Bearpark:"Nissan has always

been one of my favourite

manufacturers and the GT-R is my

all-time favourite car. I feel that I

perform at my best in a car I know

so well and so easy to set up and

drive. The balance of cornering and

speed allows me to unlock those extra tenths of potential within myself and the car, and that's why I believe that choosing the GTR gives me the best chance of defending my championship."

GRO: What do you look forward to for the 2017 GGTC Season?

Bearpark: "I definitely look forward to the potentially dangerous competition and I feel that defending my crown will be incredibly difficult with Richie, Chris, Fred and Pedro. I'd like to use this opportunity to wish everyone good luck for the coming season."

GRO: How does it feel to attain 2015 GGTC Champion Frederick Byloos to your squad?

Bearpark: "It feels surreal to have such experience to partner me. I took the decision to hire him as he has been an SSE factory driver since mid-May as he helped the team to secure good results in DRRTES. I also have a close relationship with him and that allows me to work well with him and he's a very nice person and also very, very fast behind the wheel. I believe that we will be the ultimate team since we are both champions."

GRO: What challenges could come your way into the 2017 season, which could be arguably the toughest season yet.

Bearpark:  "There are a couple of things I feel will make our challenge even harder. The biggest thing will be the Post-Race Penalty, I struggled heavy with that last year after finishing well in many, many races. Another challenge will definitely be the competition as we have a bunch of very fast guys. The final thing which I think will affect us is track choice - the GTR isn't the fastest in a straight line and nor is it the most agile car. Tracks like Midfield and Silverstone might not be favourable for us but I'm sure that we can overcome these hurdles."

GRO: Any last thoughts before we close the interview?

Bearpark:  "Not particularly, except that I'd like to reiterate that I wish everyone good luck in the upcoming season and that we all have some damn good fun."
